Mick Taylor is the debut studio album by the former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, released in 1979. Though the album was acclaimed by critics, the album's blues-based style was somewhat unfashionable at the time of release, when punk and new wave were becoming more popular. Taylor had tried to get his former band The Rolling Stones to record "Leather Jacket" on multiple occasions. The Rolling Stones version can be found on many bootleg records.
Mick Thomas is married to Jen Huntly, they live in Northcote. Thomas is a part-owner of the Yarra Hotel in Abbotsford. In 1993 or 1994 he bought a Maton guitar which he dubbed "Tommy Emmanuel's guitar" as it had been manufactured for the guitarist of the same name – he wrote a track, "Tommy Didn't Want You", in honour.
